About Yamaha R15 V4

Colour is best for R15 V4
In our opinion, the Intensity White is the best colour for R15 V4. It makes the bike look really premium while the red colour wheels add a hint of funkiness, while bringing out the sporty character of the bike.
Key specifications & tested figures
The Yamaha R15V4 is a pretty fast bike for its class. The Yamaha R15 0-100kmph pickup time is 13.25 seconds, which is impressive for a 150cc bike. It makes 18.4PS and 14.2Nm, making it the most powerful 150cc bike in India. You can cruise at 100kmph on the highway easily, and the gearbox is also tuned well-enough for riding at low speeds at higher gears. That said, you’ll still have to downshift a gear or so while overtaking on the highways
R15 V4 Mileage
The Yamaha R15 V4 mileage is impressive, considering it returned 55.20kmpl in the city and 60.65kmpl on the highway in our real-world mileage tests. Do note that the bike was ridden in a relaxed manner, around 30-40kmph in the city, and about 80-90kmph on the highway. Expect at least 40kmpl average mileage for daily riding
R15 V4 Uncomfortable
Since it’s a sports bike meant to be ridden fast, the Yamaha R15 V4 has clip-on handlebars that are not really raised. This along with the split seat setup will make you lean forward to reach the handlebars. As a result, it puts extra weight on your wrists, which can particularly be felt while going over bad roads. You’ll have to use your core muscles and lower back to support yourself so that there’s minimal load on the wrists, and also hold on to the bike with your thighs. The R15 V4 riding position takes time to get used to.
R15 V4 Suitable for tall Rider’s
The Yamaha R15 V4 has enough grunt to sustain 90-100kmph on the highway. However, being a sportsbike, its sporty riding posture is not comfortable for long rides, unless you’re used to sportsbikes. Moreover, the pillion seat is not roomy, and is positioned way too high. Hence, the passenger seat is comfortable enough only for short distance commutes
Features of the Yamaha R15 V4
The R15 V4 has a basic traction control system as standard, which minimizes the rear wheel slippage on surfaces with low grip. The assist function in the slip-assist clutch ensures a light lever action whereas the slipper function prevents the rear wheel from locking up while downshifting rapidly. It also gets a quick shifter as standard in the M variant and optional in the standard variant, for shifting up gears without using the clutch. It also gets a gear position indicator with a shift prompt light, a basic smartphone connectivity for call and SMS alerts. That said, none of the variants get turn-by-turn navigation. Other notable features include a projector LED headlight and dual-channel ABS
