Triumph Speed 400
About Triumph Speed 400:
Last Updated 8 Days Back The Triumph Speed 400 is the most affordable Triumph bike in India, and it looks quite stylish too. If you missed out on the offer earlier, Triumph Motorcycles has extended their discount offer of Rs 10,000 off.
Price:
The Triumph Speed 400 is priced at Rs 2,24,496 (ex-showroom Delhi). It will be available in only one variant, and three colours: Carnival Red/Phantom Black, Caspian Blue/Storm Grey, and Phantom Black/Storm Grey.
Features:
The Triumph Speed 400 features LED lighting, sleek bar-end mirrors, convenient switchable traction control, and Bosch dual-channel ABS. While its semi-digital instrument cluster does not include smartphone connectivity or navigation, it offers a wealth of information such as a gear position indicator, distance-to-empty readout, and useful tell-tale lights. Additionally, it provides a USB-C port for charging electronic devices mounted on the handlebar. Triumph also offers a range of accessories for the Speed 400, including heated grips, LED indicators, and luggage options, all backed by a generous two-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
Engine:
As the name suggests, the Speed 400 uses an all-new 398.15cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. It produces 40PS at 8000rpm and 37.5Nm at 6500rpm, working in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch. Triumph offers a generous 16,000km service interval on the Speed 400. The claimed mileage stands at 28.3kmpl.
Suspension And Brakes:
The hybrid spine/perimeter tubular steel frame of the motorcycle houses the engine. The rear subframe is bolted onto this frame, and the front suspension features a 43mm inverted Big Piston Fork, offering a generous 140mm of wheel travel. At the rear, there’s a gas-charged monoshock with a remote reservoir that can be adjusted for preload, allowing for 130mm of wheel travel. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels, fitted with Metzeler Sportec M9RR tyres in the international version, while the India-spec model is equipped with Apollo Alpha H1 rubber.
Rivals:
The main rivals of the Speed 400 include the KTM 390 Duke, QJ SRK 400 and the Yamaha MT-03. The other alternatives in the 300-400cc segment are the Honda CB300R, BMW G 310 R, Zontes GK350 and TVS Apache RTR 310. The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z poses as a cheaper alternative.
