Suzuki Hayabusa
Suzuki has launched the 25th Anniversary Edition of the Hayabusa in India and this special edition pays homage to the Suzuki Hayabusa legacy. Here are the details. The iconic Hayabusa is known for being one of the fastest production bikes in the world. In its third-gen iteration, it gets a host of electronics, making it as exhilarating on corners as it is on straights.
The Suzuki Hayabusa retails at Rs 16,90,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available in three colour schemes: Metallic Thunder Gray/ Candy Daring Red, Metallic Mat Black No. 2/ Glass Sparkle Black, and Pearl Vigor Blue/ Pearl Brilliant White. All the colour options have the same price tag. The new 25th Anniversary special edition comes at a price of Rs 17,70,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Suzuki has given the new-gen Hayabusa a host of new features. The bike gets LED lights and a new TFT inlay in the instrument console that displays the different electronic settings. The Hayabusa also receives a comprehensive electronics suite, which includes ten levels of traction control, ten levels of wheelie control, three levels of engine brake control and launch control, and the new Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS). The SDMS comprises three presets and three user-defined modes. The new Hayabusa even gets a quickshifter and hill assist control.
The Suzuki Hayabusa is powered by the same 1340cc inline-four engine as the older model, though it is now BS6 Phase 2 (or OBD2) compliant. It produces 190PS at 9700rpm and 150Nm at 7000rpm. The engine works in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission with a slip-and assist clutch.
The Suzuki Hayabusa gets twin 320mm discs paired with top-of-the-line Brembo Stylema callipers up front and a Nissin calliper at the rear. Suspension duties are carried out by fully adjustable 43mm KYB forks, offering 120mm travel and KYB monoshock. The bike rolls on Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tyres at both ends.
The Suzuki Hayabusa has no direct rival since the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R has been discontinued. However, at this price point, it goes up against the likes of the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS and the BMW R 1250 R.
