Suzuki Burgman Street
Last Updated 1 Day Back Suzuki India has recalled over 4 lakh units of its 125cc scooters including, the Access 125, the Avenis 125 and the Burgman Street, along with a few units of the recently launched Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE ADV. For 2024, Suzuki has launched a new colour for the scooter, check it out.The Suzuki Burgman Street has shown massive sales growth and is now one of the top five best-selling scooters in India, as per the latest SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) two-wheeler sales data.
The Suzuki Burgman Street is priced at Rs 94,301 for the standard variant, Rs 98,301 for the version with the Suzuki Ride Connect feature and Rs 1,14,700 for the top-of-the-line EX variant (all prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi).
Suzuki Burgman Street is not fully a maxi-scooter as it just gets the styling of one. With the Suzuki Ride Connect, it gets features such as turn-by-turn navigation, phone call/ SMS/ WhatsApp alert, trip sharing function, last parked location, over speeding alert and smartphone battery level indicator. The LED headlight is pretty decent. It also gets an LED tail lamp but the indicators are of bulb type. On the EX variant you now get a silent starter, and an automatic start-stop system as well.
Suzuki has updated the 124cc single-cylinder engine of the Suzuki Burgman 125, with the latest BS6.2 norms and is E-20 compliant as well. It produces a max power of 8.7PS and a peak torque of 10Nm.
Suzuki Burgman Street shares its underpinnings with the Suzuki Access 125. Hence, you get the same telescopic fork and single shock suspension setup as the conservative Access 125. There is only a single variant of the Suzuki Burgman and it gets a 12-/10-inch alloy wheel setup with a front disc and rear drum brake arrangement. CBS is standard. On the EX variant, you get a 12 inch rear wheel shod in a 100/80 Section tyre unlike on the standard which gets a 90/100-section tyre.
The Suzuki Burgman is a stylish alternative to the company’s Access 125. Its maxi size does appeal to many customers who want their scooter to look rather large and wholesome. The main competitors of the Suzuki Burgman Street are the Hero Maestro Edge 125, TVS NTorq 125, Yamaha RayZR 125, Yamaha Fascino 125, Aprilia SXR 125 and the Vespa VXL 125. Price alternatives to the Suzuki Burgman are the Honda SP 125 and Honda Activa 125.
