Shoaib Akhtar underwent surgery following severe problems in his knee. The former Pakistan pacer missed out on a lot of cricket due to recurring knee issues. Akhtar then uploaded a video of himself via his Instagram from a hospital bed in Melbourne. The Pakistan paceman was emotional in the video while telling his fans the surgery went well and asking for well wishes for his recovery.

Akhtar is seen quite emotional in this video. He has told his fans through the video that his surgery has been successful. The former pacer has also asked the fans to pray that he gets well soon. In the video, Shoaib revealed that if he hadn’t had knee problems, he could have played cricket for at least 4-5 more years.

Akhtar, popularly known as the Rawalpindi Express, said, “I could have played for another four to five years. But I knew that if I did that, I would end up in a wheelchair. That’s why I retired from cricket.”
