PNB: Top Management To Get Mobile Handset Allowance Of ₹ 2 Lakh Per Year
As per the new revised Staff Welfare Benefits norms, top management of the Punjab National Bank – Managing Director (MD) and executive directors – would be entitled for ₹ 2 lakh for buying mobile phones, PNB sources said.
Mumbai: Govt Nationalised Bank- Punjab National Bank (PNB) has decided to give its top management an annual allowance of ₹ 2 lakh per year to buy mobile handsets.
As per the new revised Staff Welfare Benefits norms of PNB, top management of the bank — Managing Director (MD) and executive directors officers — would be entitled for ₹ 2 lakh for buying mobile handset, PNB sources said.
Cost of mobile does not include Goods and Services Tax (GST). Without GST At present, the GST rate on mobile phones is 18 % cent.
The new revised norms are applicable from current financial year April 1, 2022 as per the decision of the board of the PNB bank, sources said.
A mail sent to PNB (Punjab National Bank) for comments did not elicit any response. Currently not respond.

Sources, however, said the entitlement for mobile handset up to the Chief General Manager (CGM) has been retained at the previous level. As per the PNB board approved revised guidelines, the entitlement for a CGM has been retained at ₹ 50,000 while for a GM ₹ 40,000.

Sources said as per the revised employee welfare benefit norms, the top management of the bank, which includes managing directors (MDs) and executive directors, will get Rs 2 lakh every year for purchasing mobile handsets.
The country’s second largest bank has four executive directors to assist the MD and CEO. However, the mobile phone eligibility for Chief General Manager (CGM) has been retained at the previous level, sources said.
