How do I make insurance premium payment?
On Amazon Pay mobile application
- Open the azazon mobile application on your phone
- Find the Amazon Pay on home
- Click on ‘Insurence Premium’ under ‘Insure & Invest’ menu
- Then click on ‘LIC / Reliance/SBI/HDFC/ Insurance’
- Select your Insurer
- Enter your details such as Policy Number, Date of Birth, Mobile Number etc.
- Click on ‘Get Premium’ to check your premium amount
- Select your preferred mode of payment and complete the payment
On Amazon’s official website
- Go to the ‘Insurance Premium Payment’ page on Amazon

Select the insurer of the insurance policy and enter the insurance policy number. For certain insurers, you may need to enter the date of birth of the insured. Click on ‘Fetch Premium’ option. The information on pending insurance premium will be displayed and you can continue with the payment.

Where do I find my policy number?
Please visit insurer’s website or refer the insurance policy documents. Insurers may have sent you reminders for the payment of insurance premium on your physical address, email and/or phone. You can find the insurance policy number in those reminders.

What are the eligible payment methods to pay an insurance premium?
You can make an insurance premium payment through Amazon using your Amazon Pay balance, Net banking, credit/debit card and UPI.
However, from your 6th or higher Insurance premium payment in a calendar month, you can only use Amazon Pay UPI as the payment method.
Do I get a payment receipt for the insurance premium payment?
The receipt for your payment of insurance premium can be downloaded from the order details on Your Orders page.
Do I get a payment receipt for the insurance premium payment from the insurer?
You will get the receipt for your payment of insurance premium directly from the biller.
In case of LIC ,the receipts will be sent from licreceipt@billdesk.in to the email address entered by you while paying your premium on Amazon.

How much time will it take for a payment to be accepted by the insurer?
All bill payment transactions are instantaneous on Amazon, however some insurers may require the pre-defined Turn Around Time (TAT) to process and accept the payment after successful completion of the transaction on Amazon.
TAT for Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is 2 business days.
TAT for all OTHER insurers (billers) is 4-5 business days.
You should ensure that insurance premium is paid at least 2 business days before the last date for payment of the insurance premium.
Can an insurance premium payment be cancelled for a refund?
No, insurance premium paid by you on Amazon cannot be cancelled and therefore no refund can be issued.
Why am I unable to make an insurance premium payment?
Please ensure that you select the right insurer and enter all required details while paying the insurance premium through Amazon. Also, ensure that you are making the payments before the last date for payment of the insurance premium or within the grace period.
How can I review my lapsed insurance policy?
Please check with your insurer on the steps. Certain lapsed policy can only be revived within a fixed period specified by the insurer. Eligibility to revive a policy also depends upon type of policy.
Why did my insurance premium payment fail?
The insurance premium fails if incorrect details are provided at the time of payment of insurance premium or due to technical failure.
Some of the common reasons for the failure of insurance premium payment include:
- Incorrect details like account number, customer ID, date of birth etc.;
- Technical issues at the insurer’s and/or biller’s end.
In case of such failure, a refund will automatically be processed to your account. Refunds to your Amazon Pay balance account will be instant, while refunds for payments made using other payment methods may take up to 2-4 business days, depending upon your bank’s policy.
My payment was successful, but the premium payment failed.
In cases of incorrect details provided at the time of payment of insurance premium or due to technical failure, the payment transaction may have been completed on Amazon but would have failed at the insurer’s end.
- Payments done using Amazon Pay balance will be refunded instantly for such failed transactions.
- For other payment methods, the refund will be processed in 2-4 business days, depending upon your bank’s policy. Your bank usually sends you an SMS once the refund is successfully credited in your bank account.
Can Amazon restrict / cancel payment of insurance premiums on Amazon?
Amazon reserves the right to cancel any insurance premium payment at its sole discretion without prior notice.
Is there any upper limit for the value of insurance premium payment?
Yes, insurance premium payment up to the value of INR 1 lakh is only permitted on Amazon. It is hereby clarified that any insurance premium payment for an amount equivalent to INR 1 lakh or above will not be processed on Amazon.
