In view of the drought situation, the Jharkhand government has implemented the crop relief scheme. Under this, the government will give 30 to 50 percent compensation to the farmers for crop damage.Under this, the state government will give three thousand rupees (maximum Rs 15 thousand) per acre to the farmers in case of crop loss ranging from 30 to 50 percent and four thousand rupees (maximum 20 thousand rupees) per acre in case of crop loss up to 50 percent. This scheme has been brought in place of the erstwhile Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to keep public money safe and ensure the welfare of farmers. The assistance amount will be given under Direct Benefit Transfer in the bank account of the farmers. This information was given by Agriculture Animal Husbandry and Cooperation Minister Badal Patralekh while talking to reporters on Thursday.

He said that under this scheme, a provision has been made to provide assured financial assistance to the farmers only in case of crop damage due to natural calamity. In this, all the ryot and sharecropper farmers (who have received consent letter from the ryot) have been included. Mr Badal informed that less than 10 percent of paddy has been sown in the state due to erratic monsoon. In Pakur, only 1.5 percent has been sown.

योजना के प्रमुख प्रावधान

• झारखण्ड फसल राहत योजना के अंतर्गत किसानों को प्राकृतिक आपदाओं के कारण फसल पर नुकसान होने पर आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी।
